Free Things to Do With Your Dog

If you own a dog, you know you are always wanting to do things with him to make both you and your dog happy and enjoy the time you have together. There are a lot of things out there that you can do, but you don't have to spend a lot of money on things to make your dog happy.

He has no concept of money whereas you do, so anything you spend is going to go unnoticed by him, all he's going to notice is the time you spent with him. So why spend lots of money when there's plenty of free things you can do that are just as good for your dog, no matter if he's a Yorkie or a Golden Retriever. So, no matter what you will have a great time with your dog without reaching deep down into your wallet to do so.

A great way to give your dog some enjoyment is to take a nice ride in the car with him. It may seem like somewhat of a chore for you but he's going to love you for it. Even if you decide to take your car to get it washed, bring him with you as you go through the car wash. Take him with you when you are simply going to the drive through at your bank. A lot of the teller operated drive throughs will even have doggie treats for your buddy.

Consider going to one of the pet stores that allow you to bring your pets in with you. Even if you don't go there to buy something, your dog is going to love the experience of smelling all of the different smells, checking out all the different toys and meeting other dogs at the same time. And if you don't want to do that, go to a strip mall and and take your dog window shopping for a short walk.

Take your dog for a hike. Take your backpack with plenty of water and snacks for the both of you and take a 20 minute hike in a nice state park. If you have one nearby there should be plenty of interesting things for your dog to experience on one of the hiking trails offered by a state park.

Sit down with your dog and make some homemade toys. Got some old socks you were going to throw out? Don't, sit down and make some sock toys out of them for your dog. Do you have kids who have old stuffed animals that they don't want anymore? Give them to your dog and spend some time playing with him and his new found toy. Take him out for a walk sometime to a tennis court and walk around letting him look for lost tennis balls that were left behind. You'd be amazed at how much fun he'll think that is.

Just remember, he loves spending time with you, so whenever and wherever you have the chance, take the time to include him and remind him that you love and care for him and he'll never worry about how much money you spend on him to show him that love and care.
